So, what better way to kick off the new season than by catching up with an old friend?
Presenting, the incredible and unstoppable, Elle Murphy.
While much about the world changed since our last conversation in January 2020, one thing
remained the same: Elle’s commitment to her craft & creativity. While everyone was staying
inside, Elle Murphy (formerly known as ALLIPHA) was standing out digitally.
Adapting to the new world, Elle carved out a strong online presence by curating killer
content you can’t help but watch on repeat. From dropping covers of your favourite songs,
to performing her own tracks on Instagram Live – Elle made her presence known in 2020, all
while serving major looks.
Most recently, Elle dropped her latest single “Pressure” – a track that will keep your heart
singing and your feet moving. We got down with Elle at Beav’s Bar in Geelong to chat about
all things music & fashion.

We’ve been obsessing over the looks you’ve been wearing lately. As a musician, what’s
the importance of fashion and styling to you?
Elle: Fashion & styling to me is a huge part of my live shows. I feel like it creates and adds to
the branding of my artistry and also part of my self-expression and creativity. It’s a huge
passion of mine.
Who is your biggest influence when it comes to style?
Elle: Dua Lipa is a big one. But really I’m influenced by everything. The people around me,
local artists, what brands are doing, everything.

What’s your go-to off stage outfit?
Elle: Some patterned pants, a colourful jacket and Converse.
When we spoke to you in January last year, we didn’t know the world was about to
change. What did 2020 teach you as an artist?
Elle: It taught me to take my time in perfecting my craft, and that there is no rush.
Tell us a bit about your new single Pressure.
Elle: It was written in the beginnings of a relationship and has a few different meanings. One
I’ll share is the pressure to feel the same things as the other person and an expectation to
be in the same place.

Elle: More music! I’m currently putting the finishing touches on my EP, so hopefully in the
next few months you’ll hear more music.
